HIKING ESSENTIALS

1. CLOTHING:

  • Layered Clothing: Lightweight, moisture-wicking base layers, insulating mid-layers, and a waterproof and windproof outer layer.

  • Hiking Pants and Shorts: Comfortable, quick-drying pants for hiking and shorts for warmer days.

  • Warm Layers: Fleece jacket or down jacket for colder temperatures at higher altitudes.

  • Hiking Socks: Wool or synthetic socks that wick moisture away from the skin.

  • Hiking Boots: Sturdy, waterproof hiking boots with good ankle support and a grippy sole.

2. GEAR:

  • Backpack: Comfortable daypack or backpack with a rain cover for carrying essentials.

  • Sleeping Bag: Lightweight sleeping bag suitable for cold temperatures, depending on your camping arrangements.

  • Trekking Poles: Optional but recommended for stability on uneven terrain(can be hgoten at bae camp)

  • Headlamp or Flashlight: Essential for navigating in low-light conditions or early morning.

3. PERSONAL ITEMS:

  • Water Bottles: Carry enough water for the day’s hike.

  • Snacks and Meals: Lightweight, high-energy snacks like nuts, energy bars, and packed lunches for longer hikes.

  • Personal First Aid Kit: Include essentials like blister treatment, pain relievers, and any personal medications.

  • Sun Protection: Sunscreen, sunglasses with UV protection, and a wide-brimmed hat.

  • Personal Hygiene: Toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and any other personal toiletries.

4. MISCELLANEOUS:

  • Camera: Capture the stunning landscapes and wildlife encounters.

  • Binoculars: Enhance your wildlife viewing experience.

  • Map and Compass/GPS: Navigation tools for trekking trails.

  • Cash: Small denominations for tips, souvenirs, and incidentals.
