Detailed Itinerary
Day 1

Arrival in Uganda and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
ENTEBBE/KAMPALA - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Begin your journey with an early morning pickup from Entebbe or Kampala, driving through Uganda’s scenic countryside. Enjoy a lunch stop in Mbarara and take memorable photos at the Equator line. Continue toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the afternoon. If time allows, go for a short game drive to catch your first glimpse of the park’s wildlife. Spend the night at a lodge in the Mweya sector.

Day 2
Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Start the day with a sunrise game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where lions, elephants, buffalo, and Kobs roam freely. Return to the lodge for some relaxation time and a lunch.
In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its dense concentration of hippos and diverse birdlife. Optional activities in the evening include a sundowner or a crater lake visit, and if the weather is right, you may witness the stunning sight of flamingos gathering along the crater lakes. Overnight at the same lodge in Mweya.

Day 3

Ishasha Sector & Transfer to Bwindi
QUEEN ELIZABETH N.P - BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, depart for the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth, known for its unique population of tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a game drive in this remote and less crowded area of the park. Later, proceed through the rolling hills of Kigezi to reach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check in to your lodge and relax in the cool mountain air. Dinner and overnight stay in Bwindi.
Ishasha sector
The Ishasha Sector is the remote and wild southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions that lounge in fig trees overlooking the savannah. It lies near the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo and offers a quieter, less crowded safari experience with rich wildlife and stunning riverine landscapes.

Day 4
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
Have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing by UWA rangers. Hike through the thick forest in search of a mountain gorilla family, a trek that may last several hours depending on their location. Once found, spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for rest. In the afternoon, you may opt for a Batwa community visit or nature walk.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. These gentle giants share about 98.3% of their DNA with humans, making them our closest living relatives after chimpanzees. The trek through Bwindi’s ancient rainforest is both challenging and deeply moving, offering a rare chance to observe the social behavior, intelligence, and powerful presence of a species so closely linked to our own.

Day 5

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
BWINDI NATIONAL PARK - LAKE BUNYONYI
After breakfast, depart for the tranquil shores of Lake Bunyonyi, often called the "Switzerland of Africa," surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with scenic islands. Embark on a boat ride to explore some of the lake’s iconic islands, such as Punishment Island, while enjoying excellent birdwatching opportunities. Take in the fresh air and serene atmosphere that makes Bunyonyi a perfect place to unwind after your gorilla trekking adventure. Spend the afternoon relaxing or strolling along the lakeshore. Overnight at a lodge by Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 6
Return to Kampala/Entebbe.
DEPARTURE
Start your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe after breakfast, driving through scenic countryside and small towns. Stop for lunch in Mbarara to relax and enjoy a hearty meal. Continue the drive directly to your hotel or the airport, reflecting on your incredible safari experiences along the way. Arrive in the evening and settle in or prepare for departure. End of safari.
