5 Days Chimp and Gorilla Safari

Day 1

Arrival in Uganda 

ENTEBBE - KAMPALA

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be picked up by a Toturk Safaris guide and then given a short safari briefing and time for any questions regarding your adventure. After, embark on a journey to Kibale National Park, a primate sanctuary in Uganda. The drive, typically taking around 5-6 hours, will take you through Uganda's lush landscapes, vibrant towns, rolling tea plantations and the stunning Rwenzori Mountains as you near Kibale National Park. This scenic transfer sets the stage for the natural wonders and wildlife adventures that await in Kibale National Park.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Trekking

KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

Have an early breakfast and head to the information center where you will receive a briefing on the do’s and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. Experience the thrill of trekking habituated chimpanzees in Kibale forest. Led by knowledgeable guides, trek through the lush forest in search of these captivating primates. Listen to the sounds of the jungle and keep your eyes open for other primates like the red-tailed monkeys, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys among others and take amazing photographs.

Day 3

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

KIBALE NATIONAL PARK – BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

​

After breakfast head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the home to approximately half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas and about 10 other primate species. like among others. This ancient forest unfolds over the steep ridges of the Albertine Rift Valley, providing breathtaking views and extraordinary viewing opportunities.

In the afternoon, visit with the local Batwa tribe, Uganda’s ancient hunter-gatherer tribe. Later, relax at the Lodge or take a sunset stroll through the area.

Day 4

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

BWINDI NATIONAL PARK

​

After breakfast go to the trekking point for a brief about Gorilla trekking, and after start the trek in search of the exquisite mountain gorillas of Uganda. Trekking can last between 3-8 hours in total, but once you discover the gorillas, you will be able to spend one unforgettable hour with them. Gorilla trekking begins where the gorillas were last seen the previous day. Look out for other primate species like the Black and white colobus, spectacled galago, red and blue monkeys, pottos and the rare L’hoest' monkeys, baboons and some chimpanzees during the trek and take amazing photos

Day 5

Departure

BWINDI - ENTEBBE

After breakfast, transfer to Kampala or to the airport in time to make your onward connections with a brief stop over at the equator crossing.
